Some people have different kinds of habits associated with eating and drinking. Others have habits that are considered dangerous, such as smoking, thus, affecting their oral health. We probably didn't have a clue that habits like these could contribute in having a dry mouth. This, in effect, could lead to bad breath. According to Dentist San Jose, many people suffer from dry mouth due to several factors that contribute to their oral health condition. Some oral care products also contribute to bad breath. Instead of saving one from halitosis, such products create bad breath instead. Dentists, especially at Dental San Jose, suggest that there are still several ways to prevent oral condition from getting worse such as having bad breath. Before we discuss how to prevent halitosis, it is better to bear in mind that some of the main purposes of our saliva production include the following: " It is an enzyme that helps digest food intake " It is one of the methods used to stabilize the acidity (pH) level of our body " It makes our oral tissues healthy and fresh because it has oxygen content One symptom of dry mouth or what they call as "Xerostomia" is having a lesser than the usual amount of saliva in your mouth. This means it has a low level of oxygen. According to Dentists San Jose, if the saliva doesn't have that much oxygen, then sulfur-producing bacteria would increase in our mouth. A dedicated center at the National Breath Center has made a standard treatment for an all natural "Saliva-Stimulation medication" to improve the production of saliva so it could produce oxygen-concentrated saliva. This will help stimulate the production of the anti-bacterial action of the saliva. DDS San Jose said that it would help improve the oral health condition of an individual. There are also different types of tongue that can contribute to poor production of saliva or poor defense against bacteria in our mouth. One type, which is called rough tongue, can cause bad breath problems largely because of the shape of the tongue. Cosmetic San Jose believes that despite such deficiencies in terms of the structures of the mouth, there are some ways to prevent Burning Tongue Syndrome, which also contributes to bad breath among individuals. For one, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages and coffee. Smoking is also a big no-no. It is best to see a physician if you thin you have problems associated with bad breath because of the possibility of having diabetes or thyroid problems could come up. There are also oral products which create the possibility of having bad breath rather than helping you eliminate them. Drinking lots of fluid every day can inhibit the production of saliva. It also helps wash off bad bacteria in your mouth. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily. With these helpful tips on how to prevent bad breath, you should be able to maintain an excellent oral health.
